<p>The instant invention is directed to a process for the production of inorganic-organic foams comprising reacting an organic, nonionic hydrophilic polyisocyanate with an aqueous alkali metal silicate in the presence of a catalyst and a blowing agent, characterized in that said aqueous alkali metal silicate contains from 0.1 to 15% by weight, based on the weight of the aqueous alkali metal silicate, of a compound of the formula: <CHEM> wherein A is N, P or S, wherein R, R min , R sec und R''' may be the same or different and are allyl, vinyl, C1 to C17 alkyl or mono- or polyhydroxy substituted alkyl, C6 to C10 aryl or mono- or polyhydroxy substituted aryl, C7 to C22 aralkyl or mono- or polyhydroxy substituted aralkyl, or C7 to C22 alkaryl or mono- or polyhydroxy substituted alkaryl, wherein x is O when A is S, wherein x is 1 when A is N or P, and wherein B ist OH, halogen or OR sec sec wherein R sec sec represents C1 to C12 alkyl, with the proviso that when A and S, B is not OR sec sec .</p> |
