Title compds. (I; R1 = H, F; R2 = hydroxy, aminocarbonyl, methylaminocarbonyl, dimethylaminocarbonyl, acetylamino, methanesulfonylamino), useful as antitumor agents, were prepd. by the reaction of styrene oxide(II) and amine(III). Thus, 2.8 g styrene oxide and 3.9 g 1,1-dimethyl-3-(4-aminocarbonyl phenyl)propylamine were refluxed for 12 hr in 150 ml ethanol to give 1.98 g N-(2-phenyl-2-hydroxyethyl)-1,1-dimethyl-3-(4-aminophenyl)propylamine(m.p. 146-150≦̸C).
