PURPOSE:To improve the reaction efficiency of bromine complex by forming an electrolyte storage vessel composed of a positive electrolyte layer section and a complex-forming agent layer section with less cross section and providing an electrolyte intake through a fine filter at the bottom of the complex-forming agent layer section. CONSTITUTION:A positive electrolyte storage vessel 21 of an electrolyte circulating type metal-bromine battery is composed of an upper electrolyte vessel 22 and a complex-forming layer 23 with less cross section. An upper electrolyte connecting pipe 24 and a bromine complex connecting pipe 25 are provided on the storage vessel 21, and an electrolyte intake connecting pipe 27 is connected to the bottom of the storage vessel 21 through a fine filter 28. Therefore, the electrolyte is filtered into fine particles, which float upward and enlarge the surface area of reaction between bromine and a complex-forming agent. Since the lower cross section of the storage vessel 21 is smaller than the upper cross section, the contacting time of bromine and a complex-forming agent is prolonged. Therefore, the reaction efficiency of the bromine complex is enhanced, and the battery efficiency can be improved. |
