PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording head of which wire is not broken even if it is driven by a high power by the adoption of such a composition wherein a heat generating resistant layer is enveloped and supported by a layer of SiO2 and the width of each heat generating resistant element corresponding to a record image is held narrower than a specified value. CONSTITUTION:On the surface of glazed substrate 10 having, for instance, a glazed layer of 40-80mu in thickness, a layer 20 of SiO2 of 1-6mu in thickness for improving the heat resistibility of the layer 10, a heat generating resistant layer 30 made of Ta2N material of 1,000-2,000Angstrom in thickness, an electricity conductance layer 40 and an oxidation preventive layer consisting of a layer 50 made of SiO2 of 1-3mu in thickness are provided in sequence, and on those layers, a wear resistive layer 60 made of Ta2O3 of 3-10mu in thickness is formed. The thermal recording head of this invension is composed by kepting the width of each heat generating element 31a-31d less than 30mu, for instance, by causing them to zigzag at an interval of 20mu. |
