PURPOSE:A sliding member, prepared by filling a lubricating agent consisting of a specific heat-resistant non-rigid inorganic compound or a composite material, in grooves or holes of a base material which will not be corroded, having a stable low coefficient of friction and abrasion resistance, and usable in a molten metal. CONSTITUTION:A heat-resistant non-rigid inorganic compound consisting of boron nitride, graphite, talc, mica, lithium fluoride, calcium fluoride, barium fluoride or calcium oxide or a composite material thereof as a lubricating agent is filled in groove or holes provided in a base material, preferably silicon nitride, titanium alloy, molybdenum alloy, boron nitride or silicon carbide, which will not be corroded by a moten metal to give the aimed sliding member. |
