The mechanism is intended for sticking a sheet of paper or the like on a glue-covered board. It comprises a table to support the board, and a carriage which is movable over the table and provided with a container having an outlet slot for the paper and with a pressure element, such as a roller, arranged on the carriage behind the slot. The slot is pref. arranged at right angles to the direction in which the carriage is movable. The table may be provided with a transverse and a lateral stop to locate the board correctly relative to the slot. Used for securing paper or like sheet material to glue-coated board. The mechanism permits the paper to be positioned correctly relative to the surface of the board and prevents trapping air between paper and board and formation of creases in the paper.
