PURPOSE:To increace the melting speed and to reduce the quantity of neccessary heat by using a cylinder for a pump in communication with a melting vessel to agitate molten metal and to cause reflux motion. CONSTITUTION:A melting vessel 2 is installed at the lower part of the body of a furnace, and starting material charged from an inlet 7 is melted by heating with a burner 4 and taken out of an outlet 6. A cylinder 12 for a pump is attached to one side wall of the vessel 2 in communication with each other, and it is connected to a vacuum blower 18 through a reversible pipe 14 provided with a changeover valve 15 to intermittently repeat the suction and feed of air. By sucking air, molten metal in the vessel 2 is sucked in the cylinder 12, and by feeding air, the molten metal in the cylinder 12 is dropped into the vessel 2. Thus, it is moved vertically and laterally. Accordingly, the molten metal in the vessel 2 is agitated, and reflux motion is caused. |
