PURPOSE:To facilitate a program debugging job by displaying an output element instruction word including an element number which is not allocated for output use as a misuse example of the element number. CONSTITUTION:When a key is operated on a keyboard 5b for start of a check mode, the instruction words are read out of a user program memory 3 one by one for retrieval of an output element instruction. Then the element number used by the output element instruction is collated with an element number allocation table produced by the initial processing. Thus it is decided whether or not said element number is equal to that allocated to an output element. If an element number allocated as an input element is used mistakenly to an output element, an output element instruction word is registered into the corresponding area of a system working memory 6. When a display processing is performed, the output element instruction words related to the misuse of element numbers are successively displayed on a display device 5a of a programming console 5. Thus a program can be easily corrected.
