The invention relates to a device for mounting a piston rod of a pneumatic or hydraulic working cylinder which device has a bush which surrounds the piston rod, is fixed in a through opening in the cylinder cover with the interposition of an electrical sleeve and at each of the axial ends of which a lip seal is provided. The guide bush (4) is designed as a truncated cone widening towards the inside of the cylinder and having a cylindrical bore and the sleeve (5) surrounding it is designed as a cylindrical body with a conical internal bore widening towards the interior of the cylinder and into which the guide bush fits. The guide bush and the sleeve are inserted into a cylindrical outer shell, whose end face (11) facing the interior of the cylinder ends flush with the end faces (12, 13) of the guide bush (4) and the sleeve (5) and whose other end face (14) projects relative to the mutually flush end faces (15, 16) of the guide bush and the sleeve and, with these, forms a space (17) for accommodating the retention member (18) of the lip seal (7), which is designed as a scraper ring. A pressure plate (19) is inserted between these parts and the lip seal (6). <IMAGE>
