<p>The support clip is fixed to a wall or other vertical surface and has a top part which, when fitted over the part fixed to the wall, clamps a lightning conductor strip in place. The support is in a T-shape with a fastening on the upright and the conductor clamp on the crosshead. The support clip is manufactured from any convenient material, insulating or conductive, and is fitted into a hole drilled into the wall. A central bolt or expanding rivet is then forced down the centre of the protrusion in the wall, clamping the fitting into the hole. The crosshead has ridges at the ends of the 'T' section over which the top cover is slid once the strip conductor has been laid in place. The ridges are tapered, wedging the top firmly over the conductor as it is slid over the head, in a direction parallel to the wall.</p> |
