N-(Cycloalkyl)amino acid compounds of the formula: in which: R1 is hydrogen or a lower alkyl group, R2 is hydrogen, acetyl or benzoyl, A is cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl or cycloheptyl, m is 0 or 1 p is 1 or 2, and DCHA is dicyclohexylamine or nil, and their salts, have activity in inhibiting angiotensin I converting enzyme. The compounds may be formulated as pharmaceutical compositions.
