The valve unit comprises a mixing valve with first and second inlets which can be connected to an outlet and whose cross-sections are variable. There is also a stop valve at the outlet, and an electrical switch actuated dependent on the stop valve position. The first and second inlets, and the outlet are connected in the radial direction to a chamber containing a rotary plug. The latter can shut the outlet off from, or connect it to, one or both of the inlets, and has a sliding contact closing a circuit when the connection is made.
