PURPOSE:To eliminate a need of ground equipments such as a special driving means by running an unattended carriage on independent running by-pass lines supposed in prescribed positions in accordance with indications of a storage means on the carriage independently of guide tapes. CONSTITUTION:Branch signals 31, 32...3n are provided near branch positions of a main line 1 to independent running by-pass lines 21, 22...2n, and stop signals 41, 42...4n are provided in positions facing leading ends of unloading stations B1, B2...Bn. Branch positions and stop positions are stored in a microcomputer mounted on the carrier to independently run the carriage by the control of driving directions in accordance with indications of the microcomputer, or a locus of independent running by-pass lines which the carriage should run on is stored in the microcomputer in stead of signals of said positions to independently run the carriage by the control by driving directions in accordance with indications of the microcomputer. In this case, an unattended carriage is not stopped and passes unloading areas on the main line if the unloading work of this carriage is unnecessary. After the unloading work, the carriage is returned to the main line by the control based on the running locus of independent running by-pass lines stored in the microcomputer or the microcomputer control based on a program where a signal driving mechanism or the like is stored. |
