Device for cleaning and humidifying air, with a water tank, from which water is supplied to an impeller and distributed in a horizontal layer. The air flow penetrates first downwards and then upwards again through the water curtain which acts as a filter, the return of the major part of the used water into the tank being guaranteed by the shape of the tank.
