<p>The automatic fitting seat belt has a diagonal belt secured to an automatic reel on a floor mounting in the centre of the vehicle. The other end of the belt is on a fixed mounting (2) on the rear edge of the door. As the door is oopened, the belt is pulled away from the wearer to allow access to and from the seat. The door mounting has a raised section, above the bottom level of the window, to take the anchorage point to shoulder level. A shaped rear edge of the fitting locates in a recess in the door pillar, with the door closed, to provide strength to the anchorage point.</p> |
