The tear off station is for an installation producing blocks of paper bags. Paper bag sections comprising one or more paper bags are torn from a track of paper bags consisting of bags hanging together along intended break points by the movement of grippers which engage with the paper bag sections and which move at a speed different from that of the track. The grippers include in each case a fixed gripper plate and a pre-tensioned swivelling gripper plate which adjoins the former when in the closed position. The swivelling gripper plate also has a cam follower link and cam guides carried by the frame of the machine with the cam follower links (224) guided on the fixed gripper plate (214) adjustable parallel to the gripper edge and work through a movement reversing drive on a shaft (220) connected with the swivelling gripper plate. |
