Heating element for high temp. oven - coupled to induction heating coil around reaction chamber and comprising internal coating of pyrolytic graphite

The heating element (2) is made from pyrolytic graphite and is formed as an inner coating around the sides of the enclosed reaction chamber (4). The outside of the latter is surrounded by an induction heating coil (28) formed by several windings of a ribbon conductor, with the heating element (2) heated via the inductive coupling, so as to give out radiant heat within the reaction chamber (4). Pref. the heating element (2) is formed by thermal decomposition of a hydrocarbon or by applying a flexible graphite foil to the inside of a cylindrical carrier forming the sides of the reaction chamber (4).
