<p>Plug-in cable fitting for plastic-insulated screened power cables consists of an outer elastomer (silicon rubber) insulating body inside a metal casing, and an embedded screening cylinder which includes a metallic tubular part and a control electrode, also made of an elastomer material. This cylindrical electrode fits at one end over the metallic tube and is embedded at the other end in the insulating body. Fitting has an inner sealing lip which is urged against the surface of an inserted cable core by the compression of trapped air so that no air can enter in the space between core insulation and insulating body and cause electrical discharges.</p> |
