<p>A muitiphase core!/shell polymer comprising a crosslinked elastomer core and a rigid thermoplastic polymer shell comprising a mono alkyl maleate or fumarate, styrene and optionally a monomer selected from the group consisting of C<Sub>1</Sub> to C<Sub>8</Sub> alkyl acrylates and methacrylates, acrylonitrile and methacrylonitrile. The core has an average particle diameter in the range of about 0.3 to about 0.8 micron and the rigid shell has a thickness of at least about .025 micron. The multiphase core//shell polymers are useful for blending with polyamides to provided toughened polyamide compositions.</p> |
