PURPOSE:To heat a copying paper simultaneously with detection of the leading edge of the copying paper and reduce the power consumption, by using microwave heater. CONSTITUTION:A copying paper 8 to which a toner is transferred is carried, and a microwave heater 17 is operated simultaneously with detection of the leading edge due to an upstream detecting switch 16. Consequently, the copying paper passing on the heater 17 is heated by microwaves to fix the toner. When the trailing edge of the copying paper 8 after fixing is detected by a downstream detecting switch 18, the operation of the heater 17 is stopped. |
