PURPOSE:To obtain the recording without the drop-out of pictures independently of the original size, by thinning picture information in the scanning direction at a contracting and receiving time and by thinning subscanning clocks then in a prescribed proportion. CONSTITUTION:When the signal from a decoder is inputted to a picture information converter, a subscanning start signal (d) is first inputted to reset temporarily a 32-notation counter 13 and a flip flop 15. Next, picture information (b) for every line is inputted to a shift register 11 synchronously with a main scanning clock (c). When 32 bits of picture information are inputted to the shift register 11, the 32-notation counter 13 outputs a set signal (g) to the flip flop 15 and a 27-bit shift register 12. Thus, 32 bits of picture information in the register 11 are thinned by OR gates 26-30 so that 5-bit components of picture information are distributed uniformly in 32 bits, and picture information is converted to 27 bits and is set in the register 12 in parallel. |
