PURPOSE:To improve the display quality, by making a warming transparent electrode, which is provided additionally on a liquid crystal display panel, into a proper form to control optionally the temperature distribution of the panel display part. CONSTITUTION:When a display device where a substrate 7 provided with a transparent electrode 6 for warming a liquid crystal is provided on a liquid crystal display panel (consisting of panel glass plates 1 and 2, polarizing plates 3 and 4, and a liquid crystal 5) is used under the vertical state, the temperature distribution on the surface of the liquid crystal display panel is not uniform (the temperature in a part A indicated by oblique lines is high and the temperature in a white part B is low) because the transparent electrode 6 for warming the liquid crystal is provided on all the surface of the substrate. Meanwhile, when the transparent electrode 6 for warming the liquid crystal is constituted as shown by oblique lines 16 and the width of the transparent electrode 6 is narrowed in a part corresponding to the part B to raise the passage current density, the temperature distribution on all the surface of the panel is uniform, and the display contrast, the response speed, etc. are uniform. |
