ANTISECRETORY GUANIDINE DERIVATIVES, PROCESSES FOR THEIR MANUFACTURE AND PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING THEM

Heterocyclic guanidine derivatives are provided which are histamine H-2 antagonists and which inhibit gastric acid secretions. Histamine H-2 receptor antagonists are described in the prior art which comprise carbon and carbonsulfur chains having incorporated in a middle portion one or two guanidine residues with both ends of the chain being attached to heterocyclic ring systems. The present invention provides a molecular structure where the guanidino radical is directly attached to one or both of the heterocyclic ring systems. This results in a histamine H-2 antagonist of increased potency.
