A lubricating composition comprises one or more diesters <F/1> R1 and R2 (same or different) C4- 12 alkyl R3 and R4 (same or different) being C2- 4 alkyl and 0-1 to 5% of an organic nitrogenous anti-oxidant having a nitrogen atom within, or attached directly to, a cyclic ring. Examples of the antioxidants are phenothiazine and N-ethyl phenothiazine, naphthylamines, acridine, carbazole and phenylene diamines. |
