1480357 Shelf brackets; bookends R BOHNACKER 10 Sept 1974 [10 Sept 1973] 39457/74 Headings A4B and A4U A shelving arrangement for books includes a substantially flat bookend 1 mounted on a slotted shelf rail (8) by edge hooks 3 each comprising a web 3b and a lug 3a, the hooks 3 being thinner than the width of the slots 7 and being so constructed as to prevent transverse displacement of the hooks in the slots and the bookend 1 including means to bear against the rail and substantially prevent side-to-side pivoting of the bookend. The hooks may include embossed portions 4, 5, 6, (or 24, 25) engaging the slot edges to prevent said transverse displacement, and the bookend 1 may include bent-out flaps 9, 10 or embossed portions (12, 13) to prevent said pivoting. In one form Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown) the hooks (14-16) and their adjacent portions (17-19) may be bent out from alternate faces of the bookend. The hooks (22), Fig. 7 (not shown) may be T-shaped and include upper and lower lugs. |
