发明名称 MANUFACTURE OF ARGENTOUS OXIDE FOR SILVER-OXIDE SECONDARY BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain argentous oxide, which has a small grain diameter, a large specific surface area and an excellent charge and discharge reversibility, by preparing aqueous solutions of a silver salt and an alkali metal hydroxide which have a given concentration, and making these solutions to react with one another at low temperature. CONSTITUTION:A silver salt such as silver nitrate, and an alkali metal hydroxide such as potassium hydroxide are dissolved into water so as to prepare aqueous solutions of below 0.5 mol/l concentration. These solutions, after being put in a reaction vessel, are made to react with one another while being stirred and maintained at below 10 deg.C so as to produce argentous oxide. After that, thus produced argentous oxide is filtered off, washed with water and dried. Here, the molar ratio of the amount of the above alkali metal hydroxide used to that of the above silver salt used should be 1.5-3. By the means mentioned above, micor granular argentous oxide, which has a mean diameter of about 0.1-0.3mum and a specific surface area of about 2.0-3.0m<2>/g and is preferable for a silver- oxide secondary battery, can be obtained.
