PURPOSE:To prevent breakage of heater wire used for a specimen heating device of an X-ray diffracting device, by using molybdenum for building a high- temperature heating unit of the specimen heating device. CONSTITUTION:After a specimen was set on a specimen holder of a specimen heating device, an X-ray diffraction of the specimen is executed at a high temperature by heating it by a heater wire made of molybdenum wire. While the heater wire has conventionally been made of platinum-rhodium wire, when an X- ray diffraction of a samarium-cabalt magnet is conducted at a high temperature, evaporated samarium reacts with platinum of the heater wire to form a compound called Sm2Pt, reduce sectional area of the heater wire and increase resistance value allowing this section to be abnormally heated and resulting in causing a breakage to the wire, and this breakage is prevented by taking advantage of the chemical characteristic that molybdenum and rare earth element do not produce any intermetallic compound. |
