PURPOSE:To enable automatic distance calibration without interrupting distance measurement, by performing the distance calibration by holding the delay time from the periodic output of a reference pulse to the reception of a transmitted wave by interruption. CONSTITUTION:In response to a reference pulse (a) from a reference pulse generator 1, a transmitted pulse is emitted through a transmitter 2 and a transmitting antenna 3. While a distance tracking processing circuit 9 does not perform tracking processing before the transmitted pulse reflected by a target is received by a receiving antenna 4 and a receiver 5, a data recorder 12 is released by a distance-calibration-interruption controller 11 from being inhibited. Through the resulting interruption operation, the pulse (a) is outputted periodically and a calibration distance which corresponds to the delay time until the transmitted pulse is received directly by a received pulse is held by the recorder 12. Then, the distance calibration is performed by a data subtractor 13 automatically without interrupting the distance measurement, thus performing high-precision distance measurement. |
