PURPOSE:To eliminate the initial waiting time at the time when a power source is turned ON, by providing first power source which is activated during execution of a measurement and second power source which is activated during the time when the measurement is not being executed. CONSTITUTION:When a switch 3 is turned on, lead relay coils 8 and 9 are actuated, and switch pieces 81 and 91 are changed over to contacts 81c and 81a and also to 91c and 91a. Therefore, a lead wire 29 of an enzyme electrode 2 is impressed with a constant voltage (0.6V) from an impression voltage generating circuit. In case when the switch 3 is turned OFF, the coils 8 and 9 are deprived of motive force, and therefore, the switch pieces 81 and 91 are connected as indicated by the solid line. By so doing, the enzyme electrode 2 is impressed with a constant voltage (0.6V) from second power source 10. By using such a mechanism, when a measuring operation is started by turning on the operating switch 3, since the enzyme electrode 2 is impressed with a constant voltage from the power source 10 during the period when the switch is turned OFF, a stable value can be obtained from the measurement immediately. |
