<p>The combined pot and saucer is used in indoor plant (8) culture using a hollow cylindrical container (1) of which the top is open and the bottom is in one piece with an oversize base (4). The base has an edge upstand (7) which forms a water trough (6), and the container communicates with the trough through holes (5) in the walls. The walls may or may not be perforated to provide for the aeration of the potting soil(9), the pot being made from plastics or earthenware. The rim of the pot may have eyelets (10) for suspension cords, and the bottom of the pot may contain a gravel filter layer. The filter layer aids humidification and aeration whilst prevent soil from escaping through the holes.</p> |
