摘要 <p>The mechanism uses a floating lever to ensure reliable operation of a low voltage circuit breaker which has both short circuit operation and time related overload operation. The short circuit trip coil displaces a lever, allowing a catch to release the end of a floating lever, so the main contacts are forced apart by a spring. In the event of an overload fault, the overload detector actuator rises, tipping the floating lever clear of the catch, and again allowing rapid operation. A locking lever is provided and is held in its locking position by a ratchet. The ratchet is activated by one, or several, trigger mechanisms by the force of a spring when released.</p>
