PURPOSE:To improve the safety of a strut type air suspension for a vehicle having an adjusting spacer between detachable stopper mechanism and an air tank at its adjusting time by setting the effective length of the threaded end of the rod of the suspension to a length longer than the length between the hermetic seal of the tank and the step of the rod. CONSTITUTION:The effective length a of the threaded end 1a of a rod 1 is set to a length larger than a distance b from the hermetic seal 4 of an air tank 2 to the step 1b of the rod 1. When a nut 7 is loosened to adjust the spring constant of an air suspension 8, an O-ring 4 exceeds the position of the step 1b of the rod 1 while the nut 7 is engaged with the threaded end 1a, thereby releasing the hermetic seal. Accordingly, when the nut 7 is removed from the threaded end 1a, the air pressure in the air tank 2 is completely released. Therefore, it can prevent parts from ejecting due to the air pressure at the adjusting time, thereby improving the safety. |
