CONTROL METHOD OF COPY ASSORTMENT

PURPOSE:To avoid the double occurrence of jam, by discriminating the existence of a copy sheet within a route from the inside of the main body of a copying machine to the entrance of an auxiliary device and carrying out both the switching action of a switch pawl and the stopping action of the auxiliary device with a proper timing. CONSTITUTION:A switch pawl 70 of a copy assorting device 7 is usualy set at the position shown by a solid line in the figure by a solenoid SOL3 so that a copy sheet discharged from a development part is distributed to an auxiliary device 2. Thus the copy sheet is transported by a sleeve 62 and a discharge roller 71 having a rotary movement following the sleeve 62 to be fed to the device 2 via a guide plate 72 and a carrier roller 73. The copying action is caried out in such way by the main body of a copying machine 1 in the normal state. When a jam occurs in the device 2, the operation of the device 2 is discontinued with the switching control given to the pawl 70 based on a flow chart. Thus the double occurrence of jam can be avoided.
