PURPOSE:To make uniform the temperature distribution over the area of one dot and also make satisfactory the transient temperature rise at start by constituting the heat generating section for a dot with a plural number of adjacent resistance wires, and connecting the heat generating sections in series. CONSTITUTION:A resistance wire 3 is wound on a plate-shaped insulating substrate 2. With a thermal head 10 that is constituted with one end of insulating substrate 2 as an electric signal supply section and the other end as a heat generating section, one dot area W is constituted with a plural number (the number is n in the figure) of resistance wires 3a-3n, and those wires 3a-3n are connected in series. Moreover, an overcoating layer 6 is provided on the resistance wires 3a-3n for every one dot area. |
