The invention relates to a valve-rotating device which has a valve tappet (8) of a working valve, e.g. of an intake valve or an exhaust valve, a collar (1), which is secured on the head end of the valve tappet (8) with the aid of a split taper sleeve (9), a housing (2), which is placed loosely on the valve tappet (8), a toroidal spring (5, 6), which is held tiltably in a space between the collar and a disc spring (3) within the housing (2), and a valve spring (7) which acts on the housing in order to load the working valve in the upward direction. The cross-sectional shape of the turns of the toroidal spring (5, 6) is flattened, so that it is elongated either horizontally or vertically. <IMAGE>
