The accessed number is displayed at the subscriber's appts. and used to establish the required call. The number can be displayed on a TV, VDU or an integral optical display in the telephone itself. The subscriber's exchange line (TL) is connected through a modem (M) to both the subscriber's appts. (FA) and a TV screen (BS). The latter (BS) may be regulated by a remote control (FB). The numbers displayed on the TV screen can be held in stores in the TV equipment. If the subscriber wishes to dial one of them, that number can be accessed and used via a dialler equipment (WA) to signal the exchange.
