A layered electrophotographic photoconductor contains, in its charge-generating layer, a bis-azo pigment selected from the group comprising the bis-azo pigments of the following general formula I <IMAGE> wherein A is -C6H4-Cl(o), -C6H4-Cl(m), -C6H4-Br(o), -C6H4 -Br(m), -C6H4-F(o), -C6H4-F(m), -C6H4-F(p) or -C6H4-J(m), and contains in its charge transport layer a charge transport material selected from the group comprising the hydrazone compounds of the following general formula II <IMAGE> wherein R<1> is a substituted or unsubstituted naphthyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted anthryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted styryl group, or the group of the formula III <IMAGE> in which B is hydrogen, an alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, a dialkylamino group, halogen, a nitro group or a hydroxy group, and the index n is an integer from 1 to 5 and, in the case where the index n has a value of 2 or greater, B can be identical or different, R<2> is an alkyl group or a benzyl group, and R<3> is a phenyl group or a methoxyphenyl group.
