PURPOSE:To reduce the load of an engine by recovering the kinetic energy of a vehicle as an electric energy at the decelerating time, thereby reducing the power generating quantity at the accelerating and ordinary running time. CONSTITUTION:A one-way clutch 13 is provided between a main shaft 6 of a generator and a rotor shaft 10 secured with a rotor 4 of the generator. A reversible transmission 17 capable of transmitting a rotation via speed shifting is provided between the rotor shaft and a flywheel 16 in such a manner to engage and disengage the transmission. The transmission 17 is engaged according to a signal from control means for detecting the decelerated state of a vehicle. The flywheel 16 is accelerated by utilizing the kinetic energy of the vehicle at the decelerating time. After the rotating speed of the main shaft 6 of the generator is decelerated, the rotor shaft 10 is driven by the kinetic energy stored in the flywheel 16. |
