Paper strip feeder of a line printer

A paper strip feeder of a line printer, in particular in electronic till machines, in which a toothed segment wheel having two toothed segments is provided for selectively carrying out a double-line feed of the paper strip running around the feed roller and the single-line feed thereof, the one toothed segment interacting directly with the driving gear of the feed roller, and the other toothed segment interacting with a reversing wheel which meshes with the driving gear and is held selectively in the rotary path of the toothed segment assigned to it or can be moved away out of the rotary path thereof. In the former case, during each circulation of the toothed segment wheel, the paper strip is moved back by one line spacing, being driven by the toothed segment and the reversing wheel, then being moved forwards again by two line spacings, driven by the toothed segment, so that, as a result, it is advanced by one line spacing. In the latter case, in contrast, the toothed segment interacting with the reversing wheel passes freely by the latter so that the return movement of the paper strip by one line spacing is omitted and only its advancing movement by two line spacings takes place.
