<p>Compsn. for inhibiting dandruff formation of the scalp comprises, in a suitable carrier (3, 4-dichloro benzyl)- (2-(1-imidazolyl methyl)phenyl) sulphide hydrochloride (I) or 4-chloro-2-(1-imidazolyl methyl) diphenylsulphide hydrochloride (II) at 0.1-5, pref. 0.5-3, wt.% of the total formulation. The compsns. can be used therapeutically or prophylactically. (I) and (II) have a longer lasting effect than known anti-dandruff agents; are compatible with other shampoo, etc. components have acceptable colour and odour and low toxicity, and only small amts. are needed. The usual application is 0.001-0.1g per day.</p> |
