<p>In recovering plutonium from aqueous nitric solutions by liquid- liquid extraction with a solution of tributyl phosphate in an organic solvent which is not miscible with water, in at least one stage of the process, the aqueous and organic phases obtained, particularly the aqueous and organic raffinates obtained after the first separation stage, are treated with oxalic acid to precipitate their plutonium and other actimide metal content.</p> |
