<p>The tension rail for a chain drive comprises a support and a covering layer bearing against the chain when installed. This layer (13) is resilient at the area (16) where wear is greatest. At this area the support (10) with layer can form a curved spring component yielding under pressure from the chain, with an aperture (17) in it on the side away from the chain to provide the desired resilience. The elastic area can extend for the first fifth of the layer from the leading edge.</p> |
