Title compds. I(R1 = lower alkoxy, lower alkoxy-methoxy, 2-hydroxy-ethoxy; R2 = aldo-pento pyranosyl, aldo-hexo pyranosyl, O-aldo-hexo pyranosyl-(1→4)-aldo-hexo pyranosyl; A = C1-4 alkylene), having activities of anti-tumor and anti-leucosis, were prepd. by nitrosation of II with HNO2, NO3 or NO4. Thus, a mixt. of D-maldoseH2O, 2-methoxy ethyl amine and methanol was stirred at 60-65≦̸C for 40 min to give 1-(2-methoxy ethyl amino)-1-dioxy-D-maltose, which was the starting material for prepg. 1-(2-chloroethyl)-1-nitroso-3-(2-methoxy ethyl)-3-(D-maltosyl)urea(m.p. 52≦̸C).
