A window frame assembly in which the wing frame or the fixed frame or both has at its mitred joints, a flexible sheet to give some freedom of relative movement between the frame members, which are held together mechanically by a sub-frame 15, a member of which also acts as a component in a double stay hinge assembly 18, 19, 23 for providing a floating hinge between the wing frame and the fixed frame. The member and stay assembly can be made as a complete assembly of metal for fitting to timber frame members. A clamp arrangement may also be provided. <IMAGE> |
