PURPOSE:To eliminate the loss in information readout time, by keeping the position between a tape and a head constant at all times, through the provision of a tape position mark to a specified position of the tape and making stop of tape and start of recording. CONSTITUTION:A tape mark 13 is sticked to a tape 12 broadwise. At halt, when the mark 13 is detected at a mark detection circuit 2, a CPU3 stops the tape at a position S in matching with the position of head, after time T stored in a memory 4. At recording, recording is made after time (T+t) after the detection of the mark 13 during tape run, and at tape stop, recording is made after (t) after start. Thus, the position of start of recording is made constant at all times. Thus, since the position between tape and head is constant and playback can be made just after the head is located on a designated track at playback, the time loss of readout can be made zero. |
