PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for dots dedicated to a rule by storing the character data and rule data of read print data in different buffers, and by setting the data of carriage-return switching, character size, intercharacter space, etc., in prescribed buffers. CONSTITUTION:Print data for each line is stored in a print code buffer 11. In addition to character data 40-44, said print data includes a rule indication code 101, a print indication code 102, an indication code 103 for intercharacter space, a character size indication code 104, and an indication code 105 for a line interval. They are stored in a rule buffer, a data buffer, and code-classifying registers 13-19, and 20-26..., and inputted to image buffers 28 and 30 and a printing indication register through a buffer selector 27 to drive a printer mechanism 12 by their outputs, thereby printing out the data. Consequently, various data are stored in one line of the print code buffer at a time, and it is unnecessary to provide a printing head with dots dedicated to a rule. |
