PURPOSE:To effectively display high speed performance of a cash memory, by stopping a cash memory start signal from a CPU at the same time of readout of the cash memory and starting a main memory with a mis-hit signal. CONSTITUTION:A memory start signal is generated after a request signal 5 from a CPU4 to start a cash memory 2. This signal 5 converts a logical address 2 into a real address of a main memory 1, and a memory service-in signal 7 is transmitted from the CPU4 to the memory 2. Then, the memory 2 generates a response signal 8 to stop signals 5-7, and a hit signal 9 is generated and the information of the memory 2 is read out. In this case, since the signals 5-8 are stopped, the next start is immediately given. On the other hand, at mis-hit, the memory 1 is started with the mis-hit signal. With this system, the high speed performance of the cash memory is effectively displayed and the processing speed of the entire memory system is increased. |
