PURPOSE:To reduce increase in the lamp current by skirting the sides of a filament coil with plate-like electrodes, and charging a bulb with a mixture rare gas consisting of mercury, xenon and argon. CONSTITUTION:The inner wall of a glass bulb 1 is coated with a phosphor film 2, and a stem 3 is fused at the end of the bulb 1. A filament coil 5 is supported between the pointed ends of leading-in wires 4 and 4 which are buried in the stem 3. The filament coil 5 is skirted with plate-like electrodes 6 which are electrically insulated from the coil 5. The bulb 1 is charged with a mixture rare gas consisting of mercury, 5-15vol% xenon, and argon. |
