PURPOSE:To erase the recording contents in a recording body efficiently in a short time, by radiating ultraviolet rays on an insulator film of a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:An upper cover 35 is provided on a metallic case 31 containing a drive motor 32 for a turntable 5, and a rod shape ultraviolet ray lamp 36 is fitted inside the upper cover 35. Thus, when the turntable 5 is turned and a lamp 36 is illuminated, charges stored in an Si3N4 film of the recording medium 1 are gradually neutrallized and finally relinquished, allowing to erase the recorded contents in a short time. The entire surface can be erased in as long as several minutes for a disc which has required 2hr for recording. |
