The invention relates to a pick-up device for a track carried by a medium which can be recorded or read optically by focused radiation. Subject is a reading head having reduced mass comprising a reading objective (2), and electrodynamic motor and means (8) of guiding the objective. The device is notable in that the objective is placed in line with the moving coil (3), this allowing substantial reduction in the mass of the magnet. The invention applies in the area of computerised examination of information stored on disk medium.
